  • Reed Guard (with at least 3 reeds)
  • Cleaning Swab for Clarinet
    • Metronome & Tuner (either or)
      Korg Tuner (can be purchased at the music store

Everything Clarinet!!!

We need our clarinets to stay in great playing condition. Be sure that you swab out every part of your clarinet immediately after you finish playing. 

Make sure that you do not wait until later to clean your clarinet because by then it will be too late.

Professional vs. Beginner Clarinet

1. Opening the case, naming the parts of the clarinet.

Week 8: October 15th- October 19th
  • Continue working down the horn (T,1,2,3,4,5,6).
  • New Skill: Register Key Jumps
  • Playing Test: Register Key Studies
  • Begin Learning Chromatic Notes

Week 7: October 8th- October 12th
  • Continue working down the horn (T,1,2,3,4,5,6).
  • New Skill: Register Key Jumps
  • #22 Scaling New Heights

Week 6: October 1st- October 5th
  • Continue working through Sound Innovations Lines, Page 2
  • #40 Technique Builder
  • Practice New Notes on Sightreading Factory

Week 5: September 23rd- September 26th
You will need your Clarinet and a mirror.
Review Reading the lines and spaces on the staff.
Learn to assemble the entire Clarinet
  • "Clarinet First Weeks"
  • Practice New Notes on Sightreading Factory

Week 4: September 17th- September 21st
  • Review Reading the lines and spaces on the staff.
  • Add the upperjoint of the clarinet to the mouthpiece & barrel.
  • Musical Mastery: Clarinet Upper Joint #1
  • Learn to add the lower joint of the clarinet.


Week 3: September 10th- September 14th
You will need your reed, clarinet, and a mirror.
  • Continue to learn how to articulate on the mouthpiece/barrel.
  • Continue to make a constant, stead, smooth sound on the moutpiece and barrel
  • Learn how to articulate.
  • Add the upperjoint of to the mouthpiece & barrel. 


Week 2: September 4th- September 7th
You will need your reed, clarinet, and a mirror.
  • Learn the parts of the clarinet.
  • Learn how to put the mouthpiece and barrel together
  • Learn how to clean your clarinet.
  • Describe the Clarinet embochure
  • Learn to make a constant, stead, smooth sound on the moutpiece and barrel
  • Learn how to articulate.

Week 1: August 27th- August 31st
Professional vs. Beginner Flute

2. The Reed and how to put the mouthpiece & barrel together.
